how to print the blueprint?
#1
Hi there,

Is there a way to make a printout of the blueprint ?
Now i use a printscreen tool to print zoomed pictures, so later on i can make a big readable blueprint.
the print button on the browser is useless.

There is no dedicated method to print something from the city planner.

I use imagemagick for lots of manipulations and the "blueprint" the manager tool has lends itself to this.

I found by trial and error, the image first needs to be rotated clockwise 26.6°. Then it needs a skew or shear effect to shove the top of the image to the right. This is roughly equivalent to a "perspective" tool but only across one dimension.

You can get imagemagick here: https://www.imagemagick.org/script/download.php

1) Get the best view you can of your city
2) Press PrtSc (or print screen) key to get screenshot
3) open Paint or GiMP and paste the image. In GiMp, it's easy: CTRL+Shift+v
4) save the image in your Desktop, for my example, foe_oblique.png
5) open command prompt, CD Desktop, then use the command:

Code:
convert foe_oblique.png -rotate 26.6 -shear 36.8x0 foe_fixed.png

Now the file foe_fixed.png has your city in a more useful layout. I do not know how to extract high res image from foe manager on my laptop, so I use giant monitor at work for the screenshot and I can read the words.

Then I put the image into InkScape to draw blocks and move things around:
